Greek represents a separate branch of the Indo-European language family. Ancient Greek is a language of the 8th century BC – 1st century AD. Majority of adjective valence examples here come from classical authors of 4th and 5th centuries BC, such as Plato, Xenophon, Aristophanes, Aristotle. Few examples are taken from Homer (roughly 8th century BC), Septuaginta (3rd century BC) and Josephus Flavius (1st century AD). Greek corpus is very extensive.

Greek is a fusional language with a free word order.
