Mycenaen Greek belongs to the Greek branch of the Indo-European language family. It is attested in the second millenium BC (from 14th to the 12th century BC). It was written in a script called Linear B, deciphered in 1952. The corpus consists of over 6000 inscriptions on tablets and potsherds. Often they are lists of objects and people, records of quantity and quality. They are typically not very lengthy, of several lines, sometimes fragmentary. Mycenaean lexemes are not fully understood and so far, no example of adjective valence is confirmed.
