Vedic or Vedic Sanskrit is a language of the four collections of liturgical texts known as the Vedas and of the early literature on these texts. It is a member of the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European language family. The Vedic texts were formed between 1500-500 BC. However, they are attested in written form later than 1000 AD.
